Kelvin Kept His Hat On:
Just saw “The Lego Batman Movie: Citizen Bane.” Conclusion: 6/10. Things started off fairly strong and rather humorous, but from there, I was disappointed that things feel off. Much of it felt very familiar and I don’t think it had anything particularly new to say. I understand that kids movies are a bit more narrow and hackneyed in their narrative scope, but some are able to overcome that through either giving a fresh take on a familiar theme or using a fun narrative device to tell the story – maybe like a musical. While the voice acting was good and the animation fun, I don’t think the story was able to actualize that into something memorable. Overall, it’s sometimes fun if not a little uninspired along the way. #BatFam #AbsOlutely #WeBuiltThisCityOnBlocksAndRoll #TheJokersOnYou #BrickPic #GotMyEyeOnYou

Just saw ‘The LEGO Batman Movie’: L’EGO My Hero. conclusion: 6/10 (kept my hat on). I was excited to see this because the trailer was funny, and the first Lego Movie was one of the funniest movies ever. The first 1/3 of this movie showed a lot of promise and was absolutely hysterical, however, from there the story became very jumbled and a little too over the top and exhausting. I will say the voice acting was pretty good, and the animation is super cool and unique. #orphantransplant #chillinlikeavillian#builderibarelyknowher #takeaJoker #batshipcrazy #allisfairinhateandwar
