Kelvin Says Hats Off:

Just saw “The Foreigner: The Belfast and the Furious.” Conclusion: 7/10. Martin Campbell (GoldenEye, Casino Royale) is a favorite of mine when it comes to directing action movies. The two Bond movie he directed are both among my favorites. His reuniting with Pierce Brosnan was certainly a welcomed development and in the end, I found this movie to be very satisfying. Jackie Chan provides much of the action as he usually does and it works pretty well. Brosnan is also very good in his role. Campbell keeps things smaller in scale – some scenes are a little Home Alone-y – but the payoff is still there throughout the film. There is just enough emotion with the characters to give the movie some dimension as well. For an action movie, I did enjoy the story. It’s contained, moves along well, and provides enough twists and turns to keep it from being too straightline. However, I think some of it could have been a bit cleaner in terms of storytelling. For me, I certainly see this as being a bit of an under-the-radar gem. #ShotOfHennessy #C4andAfter #QuanGirl #IreLand #StateAffairs
