Kelvin Says Hats Off:
Recently saw “Tully” – Sad Moms. Conclusion: 7/10. A tale of two halves, “Tully” is an honest and humorous display of motherhood that ultimately makes some misguided choices along the way. Charlize Theron’s maternal character, Marlo, is a mother of three and the toll it takes on her is vividly cataloged. Eventually, she is gifted a night nanny, Tully (Mackenzie Davis), that she hesitantly accepts. For her part, Theron is excellent in her role and certainly the highlight of the movie. The physicality that makes her so dynamic as an action star is translated into something more worn and vulnerable. Not to be wholly outdone, Mackenzie Davis is also able to establish a rapport with Theron that keeps their relationship interesting even as the movie fractures. #ItsAMeMarlo #DontSullyTheTully #NannyBeingNanny #BabyBlues #DrewGrit
