Kelvin Says Hats On:
Just saw “Night School” – GED It Together. Conclusion: 2/10. I like Kevin Hart. I like Tiffany Haddish. I do not like Kevin Hart nor Tiffany Haddish in Night School. It’s not that the movie is too juvenile or edgy or too anything relating to comedy – it’s just not funny. For having two very dynamic co-stars, neither can breathe any life into the film. Even then, there’s still a pretty deep bench of characters on the periphery who should be able to add something, but even they are all lacking any humorous presence. Taran Killam, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Rob Riggle, and Ben Schwartz are all above-average comedic actors. Ultimately, the movie really only proves to be a big waste of talent. I do not think I can remember a single joke or quotable line from the movie. With a runtime of nearly two hours, there are more misfires than one should have to endure in a comedy film. I do not understand how a good 20-30 minutes weren’t chopped off. After having such success in 2017 with “Jumanji” and “Girls Trip,” it’s disappointing that Hart and Haddish respectively couldn’t channel any of their comedic fodder into this mess. #ChickensHit #HartAttack #HadishItButCantTakeIt #SquareRootOfAllEvil #JeanRalphCDO #EnrollingOnARiver
